Most happiest person around you?

Before you start reading, you must think of the most happiest person around you?

To start with, an IT professional, who is now working from home peacefully, but always, has a lot of pressure of deadlines, etc. Working day and night to get good appraisal/hike. Always seek a better carrer option, hence never satisfied/happy in his/her career span.

A home maker is always sound not so happy. A business person is also stuck in managing expenses vs his profits. A student is tensed with the exams, test, etc. A vegetable seller on hand drawn cart wish for a regular vegetable shop. A shop owner thinks of a big showroom. The desires and wishes are endless for each one of us.

The most popular saying about happiness is that the person who has all the things he/she desires is the most happy person. In this materialistic world, "all the things" precisely means Money, Big House, Big Car and other luxury.

But, now look at the other end. The most richest person may still not be happy. The most successful celebrity also may not qualified as the most happiest person. The most renowned scientist would also be left with many unproven theories, and hence not happy.

In my opinion, a person who looks like the most happiest person and would also be really happy.. is a Digambar Jain Muni. He has left his house, family, cloths, etc. And still he looks so calm and peaceful. He is left with no materialistic desires. The feeling of happiness comes from leaving things, rather than chasing & achieving them.

All the Jain Tirthankars were once a ultra super rich personalities. They felt that all their belongings are of no use and left the worldly desires. So, either we get all the things we want and then realize that it is not giving me any happiness and leave all of it. Or we read, see, watch and understand what has happened with the people who always wanted more. Is there any end?

This is true that not all of us can become Muni or Sadhu, but the point here is that the increasing desires restricts our happiness. And feeling satisfied in what we have makes our will strong. Now you only decide where the real happiness lies ?
